OBAMA!

He's done it! In a humble and somber speech, Obama spoke to the unity of our nation's people at this time of great challenge, accepting it with no frills or false expectations. If you recall Bush's 2004 acceptance speech, he spoke of the 'majority' of the people...something like 50.1% or some such, in a completely partisan and '51% = everyone' sort of manner.

Obama reached out specifically to those that did not vote for him, calling on all Americans to embrace the cause of America. That's how you lead a nation.

I can't wait to get into the policies and plans Obama makes to get Obama back on track. Obama-Tech will be following his charge!

(At this point, Obama is projected to have about 338 electoral votes: incredible!)

Breaking through the Bush Barrier!

Hi There - If you've stumbled upon this blog, you're likely interested in Obama Technology policy, and how it affects both the nation and you. I started this blog today, registered a domain name (obama-tech.com), and started thinking how much fun I'm going to have tracking what I consider to be history in the making!

As I write this first post, the election results are beginning to roll in (Obama has gone from ~50 to 174 projected electoral votes), and things are going just as I really expect them to; I'll swear by the story that I called the election last September or October or so when I first heard a speech by Obama, so go figure =). Yay for the unpolled turnout: unlikely/new/young voters!

Obama excites me, there's no use hiding it. He's the reason I got into politics this year, and the reason I first contributed to a campaign. He earned my vote and many others around the country, for his speaking ability, his intelligence, his thoughtful thoroughness, and his promises. But I want to hold Obama accountable, and not on idiotic things like Bill Ayers, his pastor, or his religion. I want to hold him accountable for the policies that he promises: change in the way things are done in this country; change in the focus of education, our investment in basic R&D and high technology, foreign policy, economic policy, and our world standing: fix all the trash that the Bush administration perpetuated and caused!

Bush wasted the last eight years with respect to tapping into the power of the technological revolution from the 90s, and it's going to be hard to dig us out of the ditch that we're in. But I think Obama is up to it, and I hope to chronicle his policies, plans, approach, and struggles throughout his soon to be affirmed first term! I hope you're as excited as I am with where Obama is going to take the nation!

Over and out. Andrew
